our culture

LifeTree Fellowship is a group of believers whose endeavor is to love. We are followers of Christ. We purpose to love God with all our hearts, but recognize we often fall short. It is by His grace and mercy and patience that we are transformed into His image as our desires and ambitions become His. The Bible says, “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,” and “it was His kindness that lead us to repentance.” This says so much about the depth of His love for us.

The Culture we are always pursuing to create at LifeTree has these values included:

  • Loving Atmosphere free of Condemnation but full of Truth
    • 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, 5 does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8a Love never fails.” (I Corinthians 13:4-8a)
  • Pursuit of His Presence through Biblical Worship (Singing, Shouting, Clapping and Lifting Hands, Dancing, Kneeling, Being Still…)
  • Praying and Desiring the Supernatural Gifts of the Spirit  to operate in our Services (such as Prophecy, Healings, Miracles)
    • 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (I Corinthians 12:7-11)
  • Doing everything decently and in order. This does not mean we do not give room for the Holy Spirit to move. Quite the opposite actually. This means we want the congregation to learn to flow with the Spirit and where He is moving us during our services.
    • 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.” (I Corinthians 14:37-40)
  • Living a LifeStyle that reflects our Love for Jesus that He might Manifest Himself to us
    • “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

Acts 2:42-47 And they were continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine, and in fellowship and in the breaking of the loaves, and in prayers. 43 And fear came on every soul. And many wonders and miracles took place through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things common. 45 And they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need. 46 And continuing with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

We know we are also called to reach Our World with the Gospel of the Kingdom. God has uniquely called each of us to the ministry of reconciliation of man to God. It was because of other believers’ love for us that we’ve come to know Jesus. We want to be used in the same way as we share God’s love with our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and whomever God puts in our paths.

Our hope is for God to change us from the inside out as we resolve to live by His Word, Pray, Worship & Grow in Relationship with Jesus, and each other.

our vision

LifeTree Fellowship exists to cultivate people’s RELATIONSHIP with God, to grow in meaningful COMMUNITY and to engage OUR WORLD in fulfilling the Great Commission.

What is the Great Commission?  These are the words of Jesus:

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

The purpose of our Sunday Worship service is to help us grow in relationship with God. It is His will that we have a relationship with Him through His son, Jesus. As we grow in Christ we supernaturally will begin to live and behave and love like He does.

The purpose of our LifeGroups is to encourage true Community with other believers. When we love others it is a reflection of the Life-Change we experience on the inside as a result of our relationship with God.

Our mission is to reach Our World through serving in the local church, participating in outreach events, supporting missions and being a witness in our everyday lives. This Life-Change we undergo, through a Relationship with Jesus Christ and the love of true Community, creates in us the compassion to care for others and to share with them what we’ve been given.

our faith

The Bible is the inspired and only authoritative Word of God.

Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, (and) for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), (AMP) II Timothy 3:16

There is only one God manifested in three persons, a Trinity in unity comprised of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (KJV) II Corinthians 13:14

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. I John 5:7

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, who died on the cross, was buried and raised from the dead, and is now seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father, making it possible for men’s sins to be forgiven and removed.

Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. (AMP) John 14:6

Salvation is possible only through Jesus Christ as we repent and put our faith in God.

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms (his) salvation. (AMP) Romans 10:9-10

Water Baptism is a New Testament command to the believer.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (KJV) Mark 16:16

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (KJV) Acts 2:38

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is available to all believers.

And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression (in each tongue in appropriate words). (AMP) Acts 2:4

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. (NKJV) 1 Corinthians 14:39

The Holy Spirit is working supernaturally in and through the Church today by the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. (KJV) I Corinthians 12:8-11

Supernatural physical healing is available through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

He personally bore our sins in His (own) body on the tree (as on an altar and offered Himself on it), that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed. (AMP)  I Peter 2:24

The Laying on of Hands is used: in healing the sick

And it happened that the father of Publius was sick in bed with recurring attacks of fever and dysentery; and Paul went to see him, and after praying and laying his hands on him, he healed him. (AMP) Acts 28:8

in ordination to office

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. (KJV) Acts 6:5-6

and impartation of the Holy Spirit.

And as Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them: and they spoke in (foreign, unknown) tongues (languages) and prophesied. (AMP) Acts 19:6

Jesus shall return from Heaven and the dead in Christ shall rise.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. (AMP) I Thessalonians 4:16

Jesus will take His church to be with Him for eternity.

Then we, the living ones who remain (on the earth), shall simultaneously be caught up along with (the resurrected dead) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord! (AMP) I Thessalonians 4:17)

The reward of heaven is reserved for the believer and the judgment of hell awaits those who reject Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV) John 3:16

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV) Revelation 20:11-15

our name

The Tree of Life is mentioned 10 times in the Bible. 4 times in Proverbs it is used as a metaphor:

as Wisdom

13 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, 14 for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a TREE OF LIFE to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. (NIV) Proverbs 3:18

as fruit of a righteous person

The fruit of the righteous is a TREE OF LIFE, and the one who is wise saves lives. (NIV) Proverbs 11:30

as a longing fulfilled

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a TREE OF LIFE. (NIV) Proverbs 13:12

as a healing tongue

The soothing tongue is a TREE OF LIFE, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. (NIV) Proverbs 15:4

The Tree of Life was however a literal tree that first shows up in Genesis in the Garden of Eden. It had the power to grant everlasting life to those who ate from it.

Then God planted a garden in Eden, in the east. He put the Man he had just made in it. God made all kinds of trees grow from the ground, trees beautiful to look at and good to eat. The TREE OF LIFE was in the middle of the garden, also the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. (MSG) Genesis 2:9

You can eat from any tree in the garden, except from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. Don’t eat from it. The moment you eat from that tree, you’re dead. (MSG) Genesis 2:16-17

The Man has become like one of us, capable of knowing everything, ranging from good to evil. What if he now should reach out and take fruit from the TREE OF LIFE and eat, and live forever? Never—this cannot happen!” So God expelled them from the Garden of Eden and sent them to work the ground, the same dirt out of which they’d been made. He threw them out of the garden and stationed angel-cherubim and a revolving sword of fire east of it, guarding the path to the TREE OF LIFE. (MSG) Genesis 3:22-24)

It shows up again in John’s Revelation as now growing in Paradise. In the last days, God will grant those who have put their faith in Jesus the right to eat from this tree and enter Heaven.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the TREE OF LIFE, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. (NKJV) Revelation 2:7

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the TREE OF LIFE, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. (NKJV) Revelation 22:1-3

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the TREE OF LIFE, and may enter through the gates into the city. (NKJV) Revelation 22:14

The Cross itself can also be looked at as the Tree of Life, for it was on that Tree, Christ shed His blood to give us Eternal Life.

Ultimately, Christ Himself is the very source of the Tree of Life. One Old Testament name for Jesus is the Branch. The Tree of Life is a manifestation of Jesus Christ Himself! Those who come to Jesus and feed on Him, receiving Life Everlasting as we abide in Him will never be disappointed!

Our desire is for people to find God and experience the life-change a relationship with Jesus can give.
